Your workshop also spoke the importance of hope, resiliency, relationships, and sacred spaces. Also, appreciated your comparisons and information among compassion fatigue, burn out, and secondary traumatic stress, and vicarious traumatization. It was very helpful to learn and identify the different areas.

Korie Leigh was fantastic! She was an excellent speaker who provided great resources" "Korie provided an interesting and different approach to using self care in my work. I not only learned new techniques on how to do 'self care' but also learned a new perspective about the concept of self-care. Korie's workshop was a fun and relaxing opportunity to create. She is also a very passionate speaker, knowledgeable, and compassionate" "In my role I work with families, but am not a CL Specialist. With regards to the Self-Care portion of the workshop, I found this material to be extremely helpful, |
Korie, I so valued and appreciated your presentation. |
It was such an amazing experience to get to spend half a day with Dr. Leigh and hear about her research into something that is so ingrained into us when we were students: families want hand prints when their children die. This has never been questioned or researched and was so illuminating to hear from families after they leave the hospital with a box of keepsakes that were created for them with the best of intentions, and how these items and that process affected them both positively and negatively. It was also an honor to process this information with my team and break out into small groups and learn from each other's experiences and hear their perspectives. Additionally, the safe and warm space that Dr. Leigh created was exactly what this team needed for rejuvenation and validation in the emotional challenges in the work that we do on a daily basis". |
Korie Leigh is an outstanding practitioner whose interactions with clients and colleagues alike exhibit a rare combination of exceptional professionalism and extraordinary emotional intelligence. In our pediatric medical and hospice setting, Korie facilitated an employee self-care group for our employees, which for me, a non-clinician, was of critical importance in my ability to manage the day to day stress of working in an intensively emotional environment. She gave my colleagues and me the space and tools necessary to not only manage our stress but also to thrive and redouble our commitment to the mission." |
